Combat system

The combat system here in Immortal RP is a text turn based combat system. Each player describes his actions in the post and what their intentions are. Then the opponent posts in that way. The system goes on like that until a victor is decided, which is either until one opponent loses his health or concedes.

IMPORTANT RULE: BOTH combatants MUST agree to fighting to the death before a character is allowed to die. Otherwise, death is only temporary. The only exception to this rule is when fighting NPCs, who die upon reaching zero health. Meanwhile, the NPCs cannot kill you.

As stated earlier, fighting is per post. Each player can perform as many actions as they wish during their post so long as they are understandably described, although they cannot exceed the rules in any way and must wait for their opponent to post before posting again. However, if an opponent hasn’t posted within 24 hours, the attack and/or action is an auto-hit and the target cannot do anything to prevent it and the attacker may post his next action.

At the end of every combat post, the combatants must put the equipment and/or spells used in a spoiler at the end of their post as well as how many stamina points, mana, or ammo they have left over for the thread. Stats are placed in character sheets. This is so the combatants may fully understand what they were attacked with. Knowing the precise abilities of each weapon is considered meta-gaming, although intuition is completely acceptable within some limits. If you feel like another player is meta-gaming, post your complaint, screenshot, and link to the thread in the staff notification section.

Here is an example of two characters fighting. This is to hopefully clear up any questions you have. This a battle between the Huntress Ruby Rose (from RWBY) and the young Fire Dragon, Fyrestenar. Take note that you will not be able to access the character sheets of each as it is not these characters who are actually playing.

Ruby walked slowly through the woods, her trusty Crescent Rose deployed in gun form. She had taken a job to hunt a dragon that resided in these woods. The young Huntress hadn’t actually fought a dragon before, but she considered herself to be skilled enough to take it on. The beast was said to be quite young, meaning two things. One, it’s scales wouldn’t be near its hardest. And two, it is highly aggressive and destructive, meaning that it often attacked nearby villages. Ruby continued searching for the dragon’s Lair.

“Fyrestenar’s Post”

The young fire dragon Fyrestenar was jolted awake from his light slumber. The beast smelled a foreign smell in his territory. That of a young girl. No prideful dragon could allow for such a disgrace. This girl had to be destroyed. The Dragon erupted from his lair at 30 meters per second, Fyrestenar’s maximum flight speed. He quickly arrived in front of the little girl. “Die Trespasser!” The dragon shouted before launching a stream of fire towards the girl. He intended to roast the child before anything could happen.

“Ruby’s Post”

Ruby flinched as she heard an intense roar. It was definitely the dragon. It appeared that it had chosen to attack her. She heard the massive reptile shout something about how she was a trespasser and she should die. Quite the opposite was in order. She avoided the intense stream of fire by activating her semblance and darting to the left. “I don’t think so.” The young huntress replied. Firing her Crescent Rose twice. She needed the dragon to land in order to more effectively fight it.

“Fyrestenar’s Post”

Fyrestenar roared. This little girl was clearly a stuck up warrior. Thinking that she could battle a dragon with nothing but a tiny metal stick. Only it had a sting. The great fire dragon roared as he swooped to land on the ground in order to cover his vulnerable underbelly. Fyrestenar felt two tiny holes in his belly. The beast wondered why something so small could hurt so much. He sprayed more fire at the little girl, she had to be roasted for a nice meal.

Spoiler:

I hope that string of posts helped clear things up by the way of posting format. You may not have read the creation templates quite yet, so you may not quite know how the templates work or creation of weapons and spells are, but this should clear up post format for combat.
